At the close of the Second Age, the Free Peoples raised the greatest coalition Middle-earth would ever see. Under two co-equal High Kings, Gil-galad of the Noldor and Elendil of the Dúnedain, the Last Alliance of Elves and Men marched on Mordor to overthrow Sauron. They won the Battle of Dagorlad, besieged Barad-dûr for seven years, and saw both kings fall in single combat against the Dark Lord on the slopes of Mount Doom.
