Finrod Felagund stands as the most beloved of the Noldorin princes who went into exile, known for his unique heritage blending Vanyar, Noldor, and Teleri blood. He founded Nargothrond, the great hidden kingdom carved into the cliffs of the River Narog, earning the Dwarvish name Felagund - Hewer of Caves. He became the first Elf to encounter Men, teaching the House of Beor and earning the title Friend of Men. His philosophical dialogue with the wise-woman Andreth explored mortality, hope, and the possibility of divine incarnation. When Beren arrived bearing the Ring of Barahir, Finrod honored his oath of friendship by joining the quest for the Silmaril. Captured by Sauron, he dueled the Dark Lord in a Song of Power and lost when Sauron invoked the Kinslayings guilt. He died killing a werewolf with his bare hands to save Beren, and was later re-embodied in Valinor - one of only two Elves granted this grace.
